Match Report: Round 2 FAI Junior Cup FT:
St Josephs Fairview 5 - 1 St Andrews Malahide
After the success from reaching the Semi Finals in the FAI 5-Aside Tournament at Irishtown Stadium last week, the boys were in high spirits for their cup fixture vs a strong Malahide team who had previously won their opening cup fixture 2 weeks previous.
The boys started very strong and put on a brilliant display of defensive and attacking teamwork to lead 3-0 at half time.
St Andrews put up a good fight for the first 10 minutes of the 2nd Half but our boys soon started to pull away in the final quarter of the match to come away with a 5-1 victory, goals courtesy of Jack M, Devon and Gary.
Overall it was a very positive performance from the boys who are getting stronger as the weeks go by and will have plenty of opportunities in the coming weeks to play in the league and next round cup fixtures.
A huge thank you to all the helpers, parents who came out to support the boys and to the team themselves for all of their hard work and commitment. They are certainly giving pride to the crest of their school!
